About Us

Salem Soccer Association Inc. offers travel soccer for 1st - 8th grade boys and girls.
Our Spring soccer is in the SIMSS (Southern Illinois Middle School Soccer) league.
During the Fall we play in the SWIS (Southwest Illinois Soccer) league.

Did you know we played a major roll in getting soccer at SCHS?
We are now working toward soccer in Middle Schools of Southern Ill.
Salem also offers beginners and youth soccer through the YMCA for younger players.
Salem Community High School offers Girls Soccer in Spring and Boys Soccer in Fall.

SIMSS is a league where 5th-8th grade Middle School Teams compete in a league who's main purpose is to initiate a program for the Middle Schools of Southern Illinois to take over. In this league most schools have a varsity team (usually 6th-8th grade players) and a JV team (5th-7th grade players) and play games back to back similar to High School. Many schools also have separate teams for boys and girls. Salem did that for 2 years however we need more girls to participate to reinstate our girls team.

SWIS is a traveling recreation league for soccer programs to enjoy a wider range of soccer than local recreation programs can provide. SWIS is offered in many town starting in with 1st/2nd grade. Salem enters 5th/6th and 7th/8th grade teams and have entered 3rd/4th grade when there is enough interest.
